TEEN HOPELINE ENCOURAGEMENT

I’m worn out

You are a person to be loved, not a machine that has to keep producing. Jesus welcomes the weary. Needing rest does not make you lazy, and saying you need help does not make you a burden.

Start with God’s Word

SCRIPTURE · WORLD ENGLISH BIBLE

Matthew 11:28–30

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Jesus invites weary people to come to Him and learn His way. Needing rest or asking for help is not a failure.

Romans 8:38–39

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul writes about God’s love in Christ in the middle of suffering, not a promise that Christians will never suffer.

ONE STEP FOR TODAY

Something you can do.

Tell a parent or safe adult how tired you have been and ask what can be shared or postponed. Ongoing exhaustion or sleep difficulties are worth discussing with a healthcare professional.

Go deeper: a prayer & a question

A prayer you can make your own

Jesus, help me receive rest and stop measuring my worth by what I finish. Give me wisdom about what to carry today. Amen.

Something to reflect on

What responsibility could you share, postpone, or ask for help with?
