TEEN HOPELINE ENCOURAGEMENT

Things are hard at home

Family tension can affect everything else in your day. You are not responsible for fixing the adults around you. God cares about your home and about you. You can seek peace and speak respectfully while still telling the truth about what hurts.

Start with God’s Word

SCRIPTURE · WORLD ENGLISH BIBLE

James 1:19–20

So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger; for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

Listening and self-control are part of putting faith into practice. Taking someone seriously does not mean agreeing with every choice.

ONE STEP FOR TODAY

Something you can do.

If it is safe, choose a calm moment to tell a parent what you need. A trusted pastor or counselor can help you have that conversation. If someone is hurting or threatening you, tell a safe adult outside the situation; honoring family does not mean hiding abuse.

Go deeper: a prayer & a question

A prayer you can make your own

God, bring wisdom and peace into our home. Help me speak honestly and find safe support where I need it. Amen.
