TEEN HOPELINE ENCOURAGEMENT
My heart is broken
Losing someone you care about can hurt deeply. You don’t have to pretend you’re okay. This breakup does not determine your worth, and it hasn’t changed God’s love for you. You can bring Jesus the hurt, the questions, and the things you don’t know how to say.
Start with God’s Word
SCRIPTURE · WORLD ENGLISH BIBLE
Psalm 34:18
The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

Romans 8:38–39
For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Paul writes about God’s love in Christ in the middle of suffering, not a promise that Christians will never suffer.

Matthew 11:28–30
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Jesus invites weary people to come to Him and learn His way. Needing rest or asking for help is not a failure.

Something you can do.
Tell a parent or another safe, trusted adult how you are doing. Give yourself a break from checking the other person’s social media, and make space for something steady today: a meal, rest, or time with someone who cares.
Go deeper: a prayer & a question
A prayer you can make your own
Jesus, my heart hurts. Help me remember that I am loved. Give me wisdom about this relationship and courage to reach for support. Amen.
Something to reflect on
What would it look like to let God’s love, rather than this breakup, speak into your worth today?
