TEEN HOPELINE ENCOURAGEMENT

I don’t feel good enough

A grade, a photo, a mistake, or someone’s opinion cannot measure your value. God made you with care. You do not have to become someone else to be worthy of love. Jesus invites you to bring even the thoughts about yourself that are hard to say aloud.

Start with God’s Word

SCRIPTURE · WORLD ENGLISH BIBLE

Psalm 139:13–14

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

David reflects on God’s knowledge and care from the beginning of life. Your value is deeper than appearance, popularity, or achievement.

Romans 8:38–39

For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul writes about God’s love in Christ in the middle of suffering, not a promise that Christians will never suffer.

Matthew 11:28–30

“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Jesus invites weary people to come to Him and learn His way. Needing rest or asking for help is not a failure.

ONE STEP FOR TODAY

Something you can do.

Take a break from an account or situation that fuels comparison. Tell a safe adult how you have been speaking to yourself. If thoughts about food or your body are harming your health, ask for professional support.

Go deeper: a prayer & a question

A prayer you can make your own

God, help me see myself with truth and compassion. Teach me to receive Your love instead of measuring my life against someone else’s. Amen.

Something to reflect on
