Loss can bring sadness, anger, confusion, or moments of numbness. You don’t have to experience grief the same way as the people around you.
A few next steps
- Let someone know what kind of support would help: company, a listening ear, or help with an everyday task.
- Make space for memories at your own pace. It is okay to take breaks from talking about the loss.
- Ask a counselor for support if grief feels too hard to carry or is getting in the way of daily life.
If faith is helpful to you
Matthew 5:4
Jesus speaks tenderly about people who mourn. Your sorrow is not overlooked.
