FOR PARENTS

I’m hurting, too

You are more than the person who holds everything together. Your grief, disappointment, and questions deserve care. God is near in your suffering, and you can seek adult support without asking your teenager to become your counselor.

Start with God’s Word

ONE STEP FOR TODAY

Something you can do.

Reach out to a trusted Christian friend, pastor, or qualified counselor. Give your teen an age-appropriate, honest explanation of what is happening, while taking the heavier adult details to safe adult support.

Go deeper: a prayer & a question

A prayer you can make your own

Lord, be near in my own pain. Help me find wise support and love my family without pretending I have no needs. Amen.

Something to reflect on

Who can support you as an adult so your teenager does not have to carry that role?
